“The city of seven hills”, which the second-largest Bulgarian city of the country is called, was selected as the Bulgarian host of the European Capital of Culture 2019, alongside the Italian city of Matera. For this reason, the celebration of the Day of Europe will be organized there for the first time, as part of its cultural program during the year.
